The third quarter of 2021 saw dynamic activity among the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the iOS platform in Saudi Arabia. Data from Sensor Tower reveals interesting trends in weekly downloads and active users for these leading apps.

Uber - Request a ride had a notable performance with weekly downloads fluctuating between approximately 17.9K and 27.7K. The app's active user base showed a gradual increase from around 399K to a peak of 428K in late August, maintaining a strong presence throughout the quarter.

Wsslini displayed significant variations in weekly downloads, peaking at around 85.9K in mid-August. Active users also saw a significant increase, starting from roughly 5.8K and reaching up to 59.1K by mid-August. However, there was a subsequent decline, ending the quarter at approximately 18.9K active users.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced a steady download rate, with weekly figures ranging from about 12.7K to 20.3K. Active users saw a consistent trend, starting at 326K and peaking at 360K in mid-September, before stabilizing around 326K by the end of the quarter.

Jeeny - جيني maintained a stable download pattern, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 10.5K and 19.8K. The app’s active users ranged from approximately 66.5K to 82.9K, reflecting a steady user engagement throughout the quarter.

Ego | The Ride Hailing App experienced a sharp increase in downloads, peaking at around 97.9K in mid-September. Active users followed a similar trend, with a surge from about 31.6K to 111.8K in mid-September, before settling at around 60.9K by the end of the quarter.
